Recently, a tweet has gained attention about K-Pop fans’ reactions towards Thailand and Thai idols.

Amid the debate on the treatment of Thai idols, a clip from Lisa’s appearance on Lee Young Ji‘s show has sparked a debate.

A clip was shared where Lisa shared Young Ji’s difference in reaction to Lisa compared to Jennie and Rosé, and the OP said that it showed the xenophobia towards Thai women, and even that it was normalized in the idol industry.

The quotes were full of Korean fans hitting back at the allegations, with some even using it as an excuse to hate on Lisa or “foreigners” in K-Pop due to the response from international fans.

LOL, what other country gives opportunities like Korea does?
Seriously, K-pop should just be filled with pure Koreans only. Fuck, this is annoying lol.

How does not being a huge Lisa fan suddenly become hatred toward foreigners? This is seriously ridiculous.

But then what exactly was supposed to do when she saw Lisa? She doesn’t know her personally or anything, so they probably just passed by. What, was she supposed to bow to her or something? It’s not like she suddenly went up to Lisa on the show and said, ‘Hey, dance for us.’ She were being polite in the interview and even said she liked her normally, so how is that supposed to be discrimination?

Yet, international fans thought that the Korean quotes showcased the OP’s point and that the comments that seemed odd to many were seemingly brushed off, and the aim was taken at Thai people for their response and hit back at Thai idols.
