Popular Actress Viral “Hairy Toes” Pic Triggers Internet-Wide Debate
Philosopher Simone de Beauvoir once said, “to be a woman is to perform,” reflecting on the pressures women face simply to exist.
Some of these pressures are internal, but a large majority, including those discussions around women’s grooming, are pushed by society.
Viral Criticism Of IVE Jang Wonyoung’s Body Hair Triggers Heated Reactions
Recently, a discussion surrounding just that went extremely viral online.
Chinese actress Maggie Jiang is known for her beauty and for her roles in So Young and Nothing But Thirty.

In 2020, the actress attended an event for the brand “The History of Whoo,” looking gorgeous in a white gown. Photos from the night show the actress posing with the skincare, looking perfectly put together.

However, a recent post seemed to “expose” what some considered an imperfection.
In a close-up photo appearing to be of her foot, a smattering of hair can be seen on her toes.

Toe hair is completely normal and results from genetics and hormones, and can be an indicator of good circulation.
While it is not entirely clear whether the image is of Jiang’s foot, the internet has chimed in on discussions about reactions to women’s body hair.
being a woman is truly hell https://t.co/Nht3cK5Cgd

Its wild how society forces insane beauty standards on women, only to shame them for being "fake/unnatural" when they actually try to meet them. Meanwhile, they're equally brutal to women who dont conform. Women truly can never win in this system 😑 https://t.co/3XkjEzufhy
