Meet The Man Behind BTS’s Greatest Music Videos: YongSeok Choi

He directed BTS’s most legendary music videos, and more.

Creating a legendary music video requires vision, creativity, and skill, and LUMPENS has all three in abundance!

LUMPENS is a video creation company led by visual artist YongSeok Choi / LUMPENS that creates music videos, visual art, commercials, experimental films, and more. According to the official website, LUMPENS has been a driving force behind at least 20 BTS music videos, from “No More Dream” (2013) until now.

On IMBD, YongSeok Choi is officially credited with directing “Boy With Luv”, “IDOL” (feat. Nicki Minaj), “IDOL”, “Singularity”, “Blood Sweat & Tears”, J-Hope‘s “Daydream”, and J-Hope’s “Chicken Noodle Soup” (Feat. Becky G).

Big Hit Entertainment, however, has credited YongSeok Choi with directing many more BTS videos (in their YouTube MV descriptions), including the WINGS short films, “Euphoria”, the LOVE YOURSELF highlight reels, “Epiphany”, “FAKE LOVE”, “Spring Day”, “DNA”, and “Serendipity” — to name a few.

YongSeok Choi has also directed music videos for other K-Pop artists, such as SunmiLee Hyori, and SISTAR.

This talented artist doesn’t appear on camera too often, but he shared snippets about himself and his vision in this 2013 “Incase iPad Campaign” video.

He said that receiving positive feedback makes him feel like his efforts have paid off. Little did he know back then that millions of ARMYs would one day be praising his work!
