Military Musical “Return” Suspends Overseas Ticketing Due To Illegal Transactions and Coronavirus Fears
The organizers and producers of this year’s military musical Return: The Promise of the Day, have chosen to suspend all overseas ticketing.
The primary organizer, Korean entertainment company Insight Entertainment, released a statement on their official Twitter stating that it was brought to their attention that there have been illegal international ticketing transactions, including illegal purchasing and transferring of tickets.
After ticket sales opened, reports were made of illegal international ticket transactions, and these reports were verified through purchase receipts…for this reason it was decided to make changes to the ticket reservation and viewing policy.

The primary change was the suspension of international ticket sales. However, other changes made included the need to present a valid ID not only for receiving the ticket but also for entrance into the theater for all performances after June 14.
This is a difficult decision that was made to reduce the number of fraudulent overseas transactions, prevent illegal foreign trade, and prevent any further spread of Covid-19.

On April 1, Korea imposed a mandatory 14-day self-isolation period for all arrivals to the country. As this quarantine is still in effect, all those who legally hold tickets that will be arriving from overseas will need to coordinate their arrival so that they can complete the mandatory isolation and still be able to attend the performance. If their arrival date is less than 14 days from the performance date, they will not be able to attend regardless of their ticket status.

Barring any additional changes made by the musical’s organizers, performances are still scheduled to run from June 4 to July 12 at the Woori Art Hall at Olympic Park in Seoul.
