BTS’s Suga Expresses How Important Teamwork Is And How They Truly Made It Work

Teamwork makes the dream work.

K-Pop idol group BTS just became the first and only group to extend their No.1 win on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second week.

This also makes them the first and only group in the 21st century to do so! Seeing their win on the chart truly proves that “teamwork makes the dream work.”

To celebrate their accomplishment, let’s take a look at what Suga thinks about teamwork and how important it is for a group.

The system of an idol group can seem quite unusual if you are not familiar with K-Pop. This type of idol group system truly relies on the members themselves and how much effort they put into it together.

If you think about it, a team made up of idols is something that we don’t see often in society. An idol group is made up of several people that are total strangers and yet they have to work together and stay with each other all day while always being on good terms. They have to perform and make music for a large audience, and there really isn’t a system like this anywhere else in the world.

He emphasizes the fact that understanding and respect is a key factor in making a good team.

So, a group like this, whether we like it or not, have to go through everything together, meaning we have to constantly think about what direction we want to go while working together. This is a really hard thing to do. I think we were able to do this because while we respect each individual, we put our focus on the team. Truthfully, we knew that if our team did well, that meant we all did well individually too.

By making the team more like family allows for more honest communication, thus making their bond stronger than ever.

It’s best if you are really close like we are. We don’t look over anyone’s flaws and in a way we have become closer than our own families. Because we are so close, we are able to honestly talk about our goals and how we can improve without any hesitation.

He also reveals that they would continue to understand and respect any members’ decision to go their own way.

If someone said that they would not be able to go on with the group, of course we would try our best to convince them to stay and stay by their side through the hard times, but if they still wanted to leave, we would understand. We would respect their decision because it is their life and they have the right to choose what they want to do. We have to understand that each person is different and can have different ways of thinking. We have to respect and understand each other because that what truly makes us one.

BTS’s ability to focus in on what is most important to them while respecting each member’s opinions has allowed them to rise far more than they ever imagined. Their teamwork is what will allow them to continue to make history in the world of music for this generation.
