BLACKPINK Reveals Why The Four Of Them Were Chosen Over Other Trainees

They were practically destined for each other!

Before BLACKPINK was officially formed, YG Entertainment was home to several female trainees all vying to debut.

Only four would end up making it, and after hearing why, you’ll agree that they were destined for each other!

In the Netflix documentary Light Up The Sky, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé share the reason why they were chosen to form the group and why they’re a perfect fit together.

According to Jennie, CEO Yang Hyun Suk used to form different groups for their monthly evaluations.

Little fights would invariably break out between the girls.

One day, Yang Hyun Suk placed Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé together in a group. They were evaluated, did screen tests, and recorded demos.

To their surprise, this was the first time nobody fought over their roles: “It happened naturally. We just clicked“, said Lisa.

As Jisoo put it, synergy was born because of how well they fit together.

The reason why they work so well together is because they each know where they belong. It may be why they’re so successful!

And that’s how BLACKPINK—one of the most legendary K-Pop groups to date—was formed. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
