2NE1 and BIGBANG featured on YouTube Music Awards Twitter
YG Entertainment’s 2NE1 and BIGBANG were recently featured on YouTube’s Twitter feed as the video streaming site celebrated and held its annual music awards on March 23rd.
The YouTube Music Awards aims to share “new and unique music video collaborations featuring your favorite artists, directors, and creators.” The Music Awards is a live stream event and during the event, YouTube was consistently sharing interesting facts of popular artists and music videos on its SNS account.
The feature for 2NE1 says, “#YTMA Fact: You’ve watched enough of 2NE1’s ‘Come Back Home’ to get us to the 24th century (285.6 years).” This figure was found by multiplying the number of views with the length of the music video. The “Come Back Home” music video was released in March 2014 and it is still receiving many views and love today.
The Twitter post for BIGBANG says, “#YTMA Fact: BIGBANG’s videos have 1.2 BILLION total views – the same amount of smartphones sold globally in 2014.” The group’s top three music videos according to BIGBANG’s official YouTube channel are “Fantastic Baby,” “Bad Boy,” and “Blue.” These music videos are from their last album, ALIVE, that was released three years ago and fans have been anticipating BIGBANG’s comeback for 2015.
