“Love Forecast” starring Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won attracts nearly 1 million moviegoers

Korean movie Love Forecast, directed by Park Jin Pyo and starring Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won, is soon to surpass 1 million viewers, achieving a successful start since its release on January 14th.

According to Korean Film Council’s data collected from January 16th to 18th, the film placed second in ticket sales with approximately 680,000 tickets sold for the weekend. The total ticket count has reached approximately 970,000 since the movie’s release.

Other movies placed on the ticket sales ranking include Ode to My Father, which took 1st with 880,000 tickets sold, and The Night At the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, which placed 3rd with 420,000 tickets sold for the weekend box office.

Love Forecast has garnered a lot of attention since the news of its production surfaced, especially when it announced that popular actor Lee Seung Gi and actress Moon Chae Won would be taking on the lead roles. The film is a romantic comedy about an elementary school teacher Junsu, who seems to never date a girl for more than 100 days despite his angelic characteristic, falling in love with a weather forecaster, Hyunwoo.
