Lining up alongside G-Dragon, Taeyang, EXO, BTS, and Block B, YG Entertainment‘s recent rookie group WINNER is scheduled to also attend the “2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards” (MAMA), and their participation is already yielding good results!
According to statistics, WINNER is currently ranking 1st place in votes for the newcomer category, with SM Entertainment‘s latest rookie group Red Velvet placing 2nd.
Voting began on October 31st and WINNER has gained 59% of the votes so far (796,202 points). Red Velvet had garnered a steady 22% (304,567 points) while MAMAMOO is placing 3rd (119,664 points). The vote count will be finalized by 9:50 AM on November 12th, pushing fans to contribute as many votes possible for their favorite artists prior to the end of the countdown.
WINNER had gained much attention prior to and amidst their debut, with numerous teasers, an opening showcase, and comeback title tracks such as “Empty” and “Color Ring,” as well as Mino’s “I’m Him” solo track. They had already completed a Japan tour filled with 25,00 fans just a month back as well, proving their successful career thus far. Nonetheless, fans are awaiting the final results, as there still remains ample time for statistics to change.
