28-Year-Old Takes Internet by Storm After Pregnancy Transformation Makes Her Look Decades Older — Warns Others of Hidden Truth
It is clear to most that while pregnancy is a miracle, there are often complications suffered by those who carry children.
A young woman is using her new platform to inform of the not often discussed complications that pregnancy can bring, using her surprising transformation as proof.
Farah Faizal, content creator @ayyitslala, gave birth to a healthy child earlier this year. The 28-year-old Malaysian, who has been married for 3 years, anticipated the “glow” often spoken about when discussing pregnancy, but revealed that it was not the case.
During her second month, her skin began to change no matter what she did. Faizal grew pustule pimples, her skin reddening, and her nose growing in what is called “pregnancy nose.”
By her 8th month of pregnancy, her condition continued to worsen as she developed deep wrinkles. By the end of her pregnancy, Faizal looked older, in her own words, with the condition of her skin being more like someone decades older.
Since her pregnancy, Faizal has shared that her condition has improved, showing images of her holding her child and looking more like herself daily. She also shared that her husband remained supportive, which helped during the “9 months of chaos.”

Faizal has used the attention brought by her surprising condition to highlight the unspoken “costs” of pregnancy, including the physical and mental. While many may not experience as intense a case as Faizal, more than 40% of carriers deal with pregnancy acne brought on by the changing hormones present during pregnancy.
Other lesser discussed side effects of pregnancy include bleeding gums, the loss of teeth, and permanent skin discoloration.

Rather than seeing Faizal’s transformation as a “horror story,” it should be viewed as an authentic experience that sheds light on what can really happen during pregnancy.
