Media Outs Actress’s Same-Sex Relationship — What Made Her Experience Easier To Deal With
While many people do support LGBT+ celebrities, many continue to keep their orientation private for fear of backlash from netizens. Thankfully, as time has progressed, more celebrities have felt comfortable coming out independently.
One actress recently recalled her coming out, though the media forced it.
Taiwanese actress Chen Yu made her acting debut in 2016 with her appearance in Love of Sandstorm, and went on to star in several works, including The World Between Us and the film Do You Love Me As I Love You.

In 2019, the media exposed Chen Yu’s relationship with another woman, and she officially released her own statement that same year. She revealed that she was bisexual and had previously been in a same-sex relationship with a woman during her time in college.

While this situation was undoubtedly difficult, Chen Yu has attributed it to being made easier by her relationship with her manager.
Recently, Chen Yu and her manager sat down for a lecture during an acting class, where she spoke about the subject.

The two share a close bond, with Chen Yu saying that she was able to release a straightforward response when she was forced out, saying that there were no secrets between her and her manager.

While Chen Yu should have been able to come out on her own terms, it is nice to hear that her manager’s support and close bond made things easier for her!
