Ren Jialun (also known as Allen Ren) is a popular Chinese actor and singer best known for appearing in The Glory of Tang Dynasty, Under The Power, Forever and Ever, One and Only, The Blue Whisper, and Thousand Years for You.
His handsome visuals and top-tier talent have attracted many fans, but some of these fans couldn’t help noticing something off about his appearance.
In the fantasy series The Blue Whisper, Ren Jialun played a merman. As such, he often appeared shirtless on screen.
Netizens quickly pointed out that the skin tone and texture of his torso was noticeably different than that of his face, especially in behind-the-scenes footage.
The director of the series, Grammy Chu Yui Pan, later confirmed that Ren Jialun wore a muscle suit for the role. Although some netizens criticized the actor for faking his physique, the director praised him. Ren Jialun had to endure wearing the suit during sweltering summer weather while filming.
