Boy Group’s Comeback Hopes Dashed After 2 Members Arrested For Military Service Evasion, Another Involved In Cheating Scandal
In the last few years, many groups that had been inactive for a long time have made a comeback.
However, the recent scandals surrounding a popular boy group have left their much-desired return nearly out of the question.
In 2006, Bang Bang Tang, a sort of idol production show aired seeking to form a new group of male artists. Eventually, Taiwanese boy group Lollipop was form and initially promoted until 2009 before regrouping in 2010, and ultimately disbanding in 2017.

Over the years, there has been whispers of the group potentially reuniting like boy group Energy, however, these hopes have been all but dashed.
In late October 2024, more entertainers were announced to be under investigation on suspicion of draft-dodging. One of the entertainers that were detain and the confessed to paying to avoid military service were Liao Yun Chieh (LilJay), a member of Lollipop.

This came after group mate William Liao was indicted in June 2025 on his own draft dodging charges.
The trouble for the group’s members continued at the end of October, when member Prince Chui (Wang Zi) was accused of being a married woman’s cheating partner by her actor husband.

With three out of six of the group’s members currently involved in scandals, it appears a comeback is not in the cards at the moment.
