A double-wedding took a bizarre turn after Groom #1, one of two brothers who were getting married in simultaneous ceremonies, suddenly changed his plans. He abruptly left the wedding, blindsiding his bride and baffling their guests.

Groom #1, identified as Navin, left his bride, Sindhu, at the altar because his girlfriend threatened to die by suicide during the wedding if he didn’t call it off. After he left, the wedding continued without him.

Sindhu’s family decided to comfort her by finding her a new groom. Who? Any guest who volunteered for the job—er, marriage. One guest, a corporate worker named Chandrappa, said “I do” to Sindhu, and the rest is history.
