Rebellious Idol Gets Kicked Out Of Girl Group
An idol who was previously suspended from all group activities has now officially been dismissed.

As of December 16, Fan Chiang Yu-en is a former member of AKB48 Team TP, a Taiwanese idol girl group. AKB48 Team TP is the fifth international sister group of the J-Pop girl group AKB48.

On December 16, AKB48 Team TP’s agency, Haoyan Entertainment Co., Ltd., announced Fan’s dismissal as well as the reasons for it. According to the agency, Fan had violated her contract multiple times, in several ways, negatively impacting her group’s activities and their image.

The agency stated that Fan had accepted work without discussing it with the agency and had secretly signed up for cheerleading auditions. Her personal conduct and disputes also reportedly damaged Haoyan Entertainment’s reputation. According to the agency, Fan was given many opportunities to correct her behavior, but despite this, she continued to breach her contract and cause problems for the agency, including financial ones.

On June 13, 2024, Fan’s rule-breaking led to her suspension from AKB48 Team TP’s activities. After she returned, the agency said, the aforementioned problems continued. Now, in addition to firing Fan, the agency has hinted that legal action may be taken regarding the contract violations, where applicable.
