Girl Group In Chaos As Scandals Strike Three Members In One Week
Lately, an idol girl group has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, and fans are rallying behind the members.

iLiFE! is a popular J-Pop girl group that debuted with five members in 2020. It currently has eight members and is part of HEROINES, a supergroup that has multiple groups under its umbrella. On August 25, just two days before iLiFE!’s concert at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan area, 19-year-old Nara Nodoka was suddenly kicked out of the group.

According to an official statement, Nara left iLiFE! due to a “serious rule violation.” This decision comes after leaked photos of Nara with her alleged boyfriend went viral on social media, along with claims that she spoke poorly about her iLiFE! members in private LINE chat messages.

Despite being removed from the group, Nara was permitted to perform at the concert. In her statement, she explained that she was allowed to perform because her absence would have burdened her members. Netizens were quick to come to Nara’s defense, as well as the defense of two other members soon after.
it's the year 2025 and idol groups are still kicking their members for simply having a private life, i'm tired https://t.co/A0JcfCQlXz

Every time you kick another idol out because of dating will increase the ego of the people that “expose” this crap and eventually you’re going to end up with an innocent girl getting hurt by someone because they feel “betrayed“. https://t.co/xkmd274TLs

One day after Nara left the group, iLiFE!’s agency, imaginate, demoted the group’s leader, 26-year-old Konoka Riri.

imaginate stated that Riri would be demoted and subjected to additional penalties due to unspecified “inappropriate behaviour” that violated their rules. This announcement came after a video of Riri went viral on X (formerly Twitter), racking up over 20 million views. In the video, Riri can be seen snuggling with a man as he appears to kiss her. Riri confirmed that she was in the leaked video and apologized for causing problems for her group.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of iLiFE!’s problems. A few days later, 17-year-old Wakaba Noa also had her private life exposed. A pre-debut photo of Noa and an unidentified person, rumored to be her boyfriend, circulated online. Noa promptly addressed the matter, confirming that she and the person in the photo had dated before she debuted. She ended her relationship to pursue her idol career.

She also explained that she had recently contacted him out of respect, not for any romantic reasons, because her dating life had been mentioned during her recent livestream. Noa went on to assure fans that she has never dated since becoming an idol.

The photo currently being shared is from when I was in my second year of junior high. At that time, I parted ways with him because I wanted to pursue being an idol. Since then, we have not met. There were a few times we exchanged messages as friends, but there were no romantic feelings involved.

In response, fans have defended all three of the idols, while criticizing dating bans and the agencies that still enforce them.
She can go out with whoever she wants, it’s her private life, we don’t care and we have no say in the matter

iLiFE! management (Imaginate) should realize that love bans only create problems. Groups like Kawaii Lab and Sashihara Group prove you don’t need them.

Love ban it’s so outdated, multiple groups like akb48, sashihara groups or kawaii labs do not use this rule anymore or they really don’t care
