Kubo Yurika is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and model who launched her entertainment career in 2010. Since then, she has voiced numerous anime series and filmed roles, including Classroom of the Elite‘s Kikyo.
On July 1, Kubo released an official statement, telling the world that she had married a non-celebrity, and that nobody is more surprised about her marriage than her.

As the summer sky shines brilliantly, I feel rather humbled to share this personal news, but I, Yurika Kubo, have recently had the good fortune to marry a man outside of the entertainment industry. Ordinarily, this might not be something one would go out of their way to announce in writing like this…
However, in my own usual, honest way, if I am to convey my true feelings to all of you, I must say that I myself am more surprised than anyone by this situation.
It honestly feels unbelievable.
And while I cannot promise that “nothing will change,” I am determined to devote myself even more than before — as a person, and as an artist — to growing and improving. Thousands of fans have reacted to the statement on X (formerly Twitter), including Akesaka Satomi, who playfully objected to the news. Akesaka is a Japanese voice actress and a former idol, who debuted in the J-Pop group Mew Five.
