Girl Group’s Rebranding Attempts End With A Disbandment Announcement

They changed their name twice.

After rebranding for the second time, a girl group is saying goodbye to fans.

my fav is a Japanese idol girl group that debuted as Last Idol in 2017. In March of 2022 they announced the end of their activities, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. A year later, in March of 2023, it was announced that the group would be rising from the ashes with a fresh lineup and a new producer, under the name SHINSEI LAST IDOL. They restarted their activities in September that year, and changed their name once again, to my fav, in June of 2024.

Now, after many lineup changes and hellos and goodbyes, my fav’s management has announced the group’s disbandment. The decision was made after discussions with my fav’s members and staff, to allow the members to pursue their individual career goals freely.

The news has reportedly received mixed reactions from long-time fans. Some reportedly expressed their dashed hopes that my fav would continue without further shakeups, while others supported the group’s decision to call it quits.

my fav will disband in March after concluding their final group activities.
