Boy Group Announces Their Disbandment, Blames Missing Member

They lost contact with him in January.

An artist’s sudden disappearance led to concerns about his well-being, cancelled shows, and now his group’s disbandment.

Lyrica is a four-member Japanese visual kei band that officially formed in July 2023. The line-up consists of vocalist Usagi, guitarist MIME, drummer Mona, and bassist Kakeru. Like many visual kei groups, Lyrica combines a powerful sound with extravagant stage costumes and a glam rock flair.

On January 17, just two days before a scheduled performance, Lyrica’s official X (Twitter) account announced that they had lost contact with Usagi on January 11. This led Lyrica to cancel their January 23 and February 22 performances, and fans to worry about Usagi.

Fortunately, Usagi’s family members have now confirmed that he is safe. However, after discussing the matter, Lyrica’s members decided that it would be difficult for them to continue with Usagi. On February 12, Lyrica released an official statement in Japanese and English on X, announcing their disbandment on March 13.

Though fans are sad to see Lyrica go, they are also relieved to know that Usagi is safe.
