“KNOT” Actor’s “F*cked Up” Comment About His Omegaverse BL Drama Sparks Outrage
The star of KNOT, an upcoming Boys’ Love (BL) series, is facing backlash for a comment he made about the show’s concept during a livestream.

Thai actor “Oat” Pasakorn Sanrattana will be playing the lead role of Phatsa, opposite “Boat” Yongyut Termtuo. Boat will be playing Phatsa’s love interest, Nakhun, in a gay romance series that dives into the omegaverse. In the omegaverse–a subgenre that originated in fan fiction–male characters are born Alphas, Betas, or Omegas, and male pregnancy can occur.

During a livestream, Oat talked about KNOT and the concept behind its title, knotting. Knotting occurs during sex between male characters, when swelling causes the Alpha to become temporarily locked inside his partner to ensure insemination. Oat compared KNOT‘s concept to “animals mating and getting stuck together,” a comment that BL fans have heavily criticized.
Fans have accused Oat of being disrespectful and only “being in it for the money.”

Oat has now apologized for his comment and posted an apology on X (formerly Twitter) in both Thai and English.
I would like to sincerely apologize for speaking without sufficient consideration and for joking excessively. I acknowledge that my words were inappropriate and may have made many people uncomfortable. I deeply regret my actions and will take this as a lesson to be more… pic.twitter.com/57vsUkubYc

While some fans have accepted Oat’s apology, others have been less forgiving.
Interfans are very annoying. Thai people have the right to be angry they got a better context of what he was saying. Out here kissing ass nonsense

it's not about what you think or say out loud, it's about what you believe and are. you're profiting off of a community you make fun of and treat poorly, that's all we need to know about you in this profession.
