Fans are also reportedly concerned about Eli’s safety due to difficulties he faced in the past. Although Eli found success in the entertainment world–his debut album won the “Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist” in 2015–the 31-year-old star has battled depression since his teen years, and he was forced to switch schools three times because of bullying.

Earlier this year, the singer, who confessed to borrowing money from loan sharks, opened up about his financial struggles. He was also arrested twice in 2025: once for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend with a knife in January, and once in June on suspicion of fraud.
