Lim and Sun’s marriage has been a tumultuous one. In 2007, they divorced due to Sun’s extramarital affair with Chinese actress Luo Li Na. In 2011, Sun spent 19 days in detention after being arrested by Beijing authorities for illegal drug use.

Three years after that scandal and seven years after their divorce, Lim and Sun got back together and remarried. In 2019, the couple split up again but didn’t legally divorce after Sun was caught cheating on Lim for the second time. Lim and Sun rekindled their romance in 2024.

On April 8, Lim announced on social media that she is done compromising and suffering from “deceit and humiliation.”

This time, I will no longer compromise, no longer endure. I refuse to stay silent and invalidate my own feelings. No matter how much love and pain, how much deceit and humiliation there was in the past, this is the end of it.

“I once gave my all to love, and now I’m choosing to let go with all my strength,” she continued. “This isn’t because I want to forget, but because I want to embrace myself again. I know I’m worthy of love, happiness, clear skies, and smiles that belong to me.”
