Woman Says A Celebrity Called Her Fat And Ugly, Now She Looks Like A Famous Star
A woman is sharing her weight loss transformation on social media, along with the moment that drove her to make a change.
In a video, Liu Xiaodi, a user on Xiaohongshu (also known as RedNote), claimed that a celebrity once called her fat and ugly. This cruel comment has led her to work out at the gym almost daily. She also changed her diet from a high-calorie to a high-protein one.
By making these changes, Liu lost 20 kg (about 44 lbs). Liu, who has been sharing her progress online since February, admitted that not all the changes have been positive so far.
Some combat the negative changes, Liu added strength training to her exercise routine, and she began taking better care of her skin by using beauty devices her father recommended to her.

Liu hasn’t dropped the name of the celebrity who allegedly insulted her, but another celebrity has become part of her before-and-after story. Some netizens who have seen Liu’s “after” appearance have reportedly compared her to the Taiwanese former actress Joey Wong.
Wong rose to fame in the 1990s, both for her acting talent and her beauty. She retired to Canada in 2004, after filming her last movie, Shanghai Story. Liu may have been channeling the star when she took this photo for a glamourous photoshoot:
