When popular idols and idol groups collaborate for special stages, magic happens. Most often these collaborations are for concerts, music festivals or awards ceremonies – but some of the performances are so iconic they’ve entered the ranks of K-Pop history. Rewatch 10 of the most epic stages that featured more than one artist at a time, covering their own songs, another artist’s songs, or performing a dance cover.

 

1. BIGBANG and Lee Hyori

Who can forget the iconic 2008 Mnet Asian Music Festival melody performance with BIGBANG and solo queen Lee Hyori, and that scandalous kiss T.O.P placed on her lips?

 

2. Sunmi and Taemin

One of the most anticipated collaborations of 2017, Sunmi‘s “Gashina” stage at the MAMA concert was made even more epic by the addition of SHINee Taemin‘s dancing, and visa versa for Taemin’s “Move”.

 

3. TVXQ’s Changmin, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Minho and EXO’s Suho

The iconic dance cover of Girl’s Day‘s “Something” saw the boys crossdress superbly for the SMTOWN concert.

The song returned to celebrate Music Core‘s 400th show with a cover by “Boy’s Day” – NU’EST‘s Ren, BTOB‘s Minhyuk, VIXX‘s Hongbin and A-JAX‘s Seungjin.

 

4. Red Velvet’s Wendy, EXO’s Chanyeol and MBFTY

At the “Dream” concert in 2015, Wendy and Chanyeol rocked the stage with rap group MFBTY (My Fans are Better Than Yours, also known as Drunken Tiger) for MFBTY’s special stage “Bang Diggy Bang Bang”, pumping the audience with energy.

 

5. Suzy and EXO’s Baekhyun

The first ever live performance of Suzy and Baekhyun‘s duet “Dream” got a lot of hype… for not only the cute and talented performance, but the awkward way Baekhyun held Suzy’s hand.

 

6. SEVENTEEN and MONSTA X

At the 2015 MAMA concert, MONSTA X and SEVENTEEN slayed a melody performance of their songs (pining after actress Kim So Hyun!)

 

7. Girls’ Generation’s TTS and EXO’s D.O, Sehun, Chanyeol and Luhan

Taetiseo and EXO did a hype cover of Usher’s “DJ Got Us Falling in Love” in 2012. Chanyeol even added his own Korean lyrics for the English rap parts.

 

8. MFTBY with Red Velvet’s Wendy, BTS’s RM and EXO’s Chanyeol

At the 2016 Seoul Music Awards, MFBTY held a collaboration stage with huge names in K-Pop, including Red Velvet’s Wendy, EXO’s Chanyeol and BTS‘s RM (featuring a guest appearance by the rest of the BTS members!)

 

9. TWICE’s Momo, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, GFRIEND’s SinB, Chungha and I.OI/Weki Meki’s Youjung

This epic collab was for the 2016 KBS Song Festival, featuring the dancing queens of several popular K-Pop girl groups.

 

10. BTOB’s Minhyuk teamed up with MONSTA X’s Minhyuk, GOT7’s BAMBAM and Youngjae

These guys nailed a cover of Miss A‘s “Bad Girl Good Girl” at the 2016 KBS Song Festival, leather pants and all!

 

11. Rap “Dream” team featuring EXID LE, BTS’s Suga and RM and B1A4’s Baro

These rappers brought the fire at the 2015 Dream concert.

 

12. Girl’s Day and Ailee

Girl’s Day showed the boys how it’s done at MAMA 2015, performing “Something” with Ailee.

 

13. EXO’s Kai and Lay vs Girls’ Generation Hyoyeon

As part of a special collaboration performance for Dancing9 in 2013, where the three were leaders of their own teams in a battle to win the survival dance show, these expert dancers heated up the stage with a performance from SMTOWN’s “Spectrum” dancers stage.

The 2013 “Spectrum” dancers included Hyoyeon, Kai, Lay, SHINee’s Taemin, Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk and TVXQ‘s Yunho.

 

14. Girls’ Generation, KARA, Black Pearl and Wondergirls

For a 2007 special Mnet Asian Music Festival performance, the four massive girl groups at the height of their fame battled it out for the title of best dancer.
