10 Idols Who Would Be Doctors Or Nurses If They Weren’t K-Pop Stars

Imagine them treating you!

Everyone knows that idols can really help fans through tough times. But, if these 10 idols weren’t K-Pop stars, they wanted to help people in a different way: by training in the medical field as doctors or nurses.

1. Kai (EXO)

Back in 2016, EXO’s Kai told fans in a live broadcast that if he wasn’t an idol, he would want to be a doctor and heal people who are sick and hurt. And his reasoning behind the dream is so touching—his mother used to work in the medical field too.

2. Jaemin (NCT)

When NCT’s Jaemin was in elementary school, his dream was to become a doctor. Given how much volunteer work he did in his youth, it’s clear he really cares about helping people.

3. Cha Eunwoo (ASTRO)

If he wasn’t a K-Pop idol, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo had planned to be a doctor. His other two childhood career goals were teacher or news anchor.

4. Sakura (IZ*ONE)

Before joining IZ*ONE, 16-year-old Sakura revealed in an interview that she wants to be a doctor as well as an idol. Specifically, Sakura said her dream is to become an obstetrician-gynecologist (OBGYN) because she’s fascinated by the idea of helping to bring new life into this world.

5. Hyewon (IZ*ONE)

Fellow IZ*ONE member Hyewon also had medical dreams before stardom. In a Japanese magazine interview, she told fans she’d be a nurse if she wasn’t an idol.

6. Donghyun (AB6IX)

At one fansign, AB6IX’s Donghyun told a fan he’d become a doctor or a teacher if he wasn’t an idol.

7. Yerin (GFRIEND)

GFRIEND’s Yerin once revealed that if she wasn’t an idol, there were three jobs she would’ve liked to do: air stewardess, bank clerk, or nursing.

8. Eunsang (X1)

One of former X1 member Eunsang’s old elementary school classmates once revealed his childhood dream was to be a doctor. Another former classmate said he even wrote it in his yearbook, and that his exam grades were in the top 20% percentile.

9. Dongwoo (INFINITE)

Try not to cry at this one—if INFINITE’s Dongwoo once said he’d become a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine if he wasn’t an idol because his grandmother suffered from a disease and he wanted to cure her.

10. Kyla (Pristin)

When she was younger, former Pristin member Kyla wanted to become a doctor. Who knows—now she’s returned to her education in the U.S., maybe she’ll be fulfilling that dream.
