10+ Times K-Pop Idols Got Played Dirty By Music Shows’ Experimental Camerawork

When we the K-Pop stans watch Korean music programs, like Inkigayo and Music Core, we do it to see our favorite artists perform — shining, shimmering, splendid under the spotlight. Sometimes though, these shows send out wildin’ cameramen who get extra creative and experimental with their broadcast… and we can’t help but cringe and cackle. They mean well. But here are 10+ times their intentions didn’t quite translate. Check out our favorite K-Pop idols being played dirty.

1. EXO

We get a nano-second of the close-up we want — before being blasted back to the abyss of the audience. It’s like a simulation of a nosebleed seat. What an experience.

2. Red Velvet

This is actually a really graceful choreography — with the members looking like butterflies about to spread wings and fly off. But with the right camerawork, it can also look like “How To Flick Hair 101”.

3. Super Junior

(Plays The Simpsons theme song.) (Or is it the Shrek theme song?) (Either works.)

4. GFRIEND

Okay, okay — we see you! This cameraman got rhythm. Zoom in-in-out. Zoom in-in-out. Boom, boom, pow. Boom, boom, pow…

Screams: CAN YOU PLEASE JUST LEAVE THE CAMERA ALONE?!

5. SEVENTEEN

And we present to you, the back-up dancer POV coverage. If “live footage” is the goal, we might as well go al in. (Insert the appropriate “But why?” meme here.)

6. TWICE

Look how quickly this cameraman gives up when the dim lighting makes it difficult to get TWICE on camera. It almost immediately turns into, “Check out this amazing stage set up instead!” — and man, we’re cackling.

7. INFINITE

We’re thinking about calling this the “Blackhole Method”. We get it though. L is handsome. It would be impossible not to get sucked into his gaze.

8. f(x)

Those magical hands have enchanted the camera.

9. VIXX

This had us fooled for a good second. As soon as we let our guards down — like, “Oh finally! Some solid cameraworks!” Nope. POW! We’re spinning.

10. OH MY GIRL

For who knows what reason, this camera can’t decide if it wants to show OH MY GIRL’s performance or the cute kitchen illustrations. Because, obviously, the right answer is not clear at all.

Cameraman: Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh- Oooooh, where did she get those shoes?

12. Apink’s Jung Eunji

Hey, if anything… That extreme zoom-out went smoothly AF. So… if anything, we can say it had been intentional. Oh yes. Totally natural to zoom out of the solo artist. All planned.
