K-Pop idols having a stage name is quite common, as many idols share the same birth name, so a stage name can make it easier to differentiate idols. Some idols have changed their birth name for personal reasons as well, here are 10 of those idols.

1. Lee Jinhyuk (UP10TION)

Jinhyuk has gone through several names throughout his life. His birth name is Lee Sung Joon, but he legally changed his name to Lee Jinhyuk. Jinhyuk’s stage name also changed, as his original stage name was Wei. He later changed his stage name to Jinhyuk after he participated in Produce X 101.

2. Jeongyeon (TWICE)

Jeongyeon‘s birth name is Yoo Kyung Wan. She was teased about her name sounding boyish, so she legally changed her name to Jeongyeon in elementary school.

3. Kang Daniel

Kang Daniel‘s birth name is Kang Eui Geon. He later decided to legally change his name to Daniel, as people had a hard time pronouncing his birth name.

4. Hoya

Hoya‘s birth name is Lee Ho Dong. He later legally changed it to Lee Ho Won, as he was teased for sharing the same name as Kang Ho Dong.
