5 K-Pop Idols Who Went Through Multiple Hardships And Have Participated In Multiple Survival Programs
Survival programs seem to only be increasing in the Korean entertainment industry, and they are used for multiple purposes.
Survival programs can be used for multiple purposes, such as debuting, getting your name known by the public, training, etc. Here are 5 K-Pop idols who went through multiple survival programs.
1. Chaeyeon (IZ*ONE)
Chaeyeon participated in K-Pop Star 3 with her sister Chaeryeong before becoming an idol trainee. They showcased their talents and were eventually accepted as JYP Entertainment trainees.
Chaeyeon then participated in SIXTEEN but was the first trainee to get eliminated from the show.
Chaeyeon eventually left JYP Entertainment and signed with WM Entertainment. She went on to participate in Produce 48 and made her debut as a member of IZ*ONE.
2. Hangyul (H&D)
Hangyul originally participated in The Unit but didn’t get to debut as a member of UNB.
Hangyul then participated in Produce X 101, where he ranked 7’th place in the finale and became a member of X1.
Unfortunately, X1 disbanded after the Produce scandal, and Hangyul re-debuted in a duo called H&D with fellow X1 member Dohyon.
3. Seungyoon (WINNER)
Seungyoon originally auditioned for the show Superstar K2. He impressed many people on the show for his unique vocal tone and was praised by many of the judges. He placed 4’th on the show and impressed Yang Hyun Suk as he eventually was signed by YG Entertainment.
After debuting as a solo artist, Seungyoon participated in the show Who Is Next: WIN. Seungyoon’s team would end up winning the show, and he debuted as a member of WINNER.
4. Momo (TWICE)
Momo originally participated in the show Superstar K3 but was eliminated in the 3’rd round of the show.
Momo eventually signed as a JYP Entertainment trainee and went through a couple of years of training. She then participated in the show SIXTEEN and debuted as a member of TWICE.
5. Almost all the members of iKON
Except for Chanwoo, all the members of iKON participated in at least 2 survival shows. They originally participated in Who Is Next: WIN as Team B.
They ended up losing to the eventual members of WINNER, so they didn’t get to debut. They then participated in the show Mix and Match, which is the show that created iKON.
