#4 is so underrated but also so so crazy.

Sometimes we don’t want a K-Drama that will make us comfortable. Sometimes we want the wild, crazy ones that will have us eagerly anticipating each episode. The easiest way to find these shows is to find some with revenge plots!

Yes, whether it’s murder, being fired, or defamation, these characters want their revenge and will get it by any means necessary. Here are just 5 vengeful K-Dramas that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

1. Pinocchio

The idealistic Choi In Ha (Park Shin Hye) is a broadcast journalist who suffers from “Pinocchio Syndrome,” which makes her hiccup whenever she tells a lie. Her colleagues include Choi Dal Po (Lee Jong Suk), who has a sharp memory; Seo Bum Jo (Kim Young Kwang), a wealthy heir; and Yoon Yoo Rae (Lee Yoo Bi), whose fangirl knowledge comes in handy when covering the news.

This series examines how irresponsible media organizations could destroy families and ruin reputations. One of the characters has had their life ruined by a rumor and strives to prove their family’s innocence.

2. Money Flower

Managing director Kang Pil Joo (Jang Hyuk) is known for his intelligence and high performance and is envied by many in the Chungah Group. He keeps his real identity a secret from the Chungah Group and is their obedient servant; however, he is actually manipulating them for his scheme. He planned to make Na Mo Hyun (Park Se Young) fall in love with Jang Bu Cheon (Jang Seung Jo) as revenge, but he suddenly finds himself falling in love with her instead.

This series will have you fully immersed almost instantly. It’s thrilling to see how Pil Joo’s revenge plan unfolds and how many of the characters get in his way.

3. Monster

A man takes on the corrupt elite or “monsters” whose identities are hidden from the public after he loses his family in a conspiracy planned by very powerful people. Through the darkness, he finds love and is taught generosity and the true meaning of life.

The main character was once the heir to a chain of hospitals, but once his parents and aunt were brutally murdered, he lost everything. Eventually, he changes his appearance and gains a new identity in an attempt to get revenge on those who have wronged him.

4. Doctor Prisoner

This series centers around a skilled doctor in a university hospital’s emergency care center. His medical license gets suspended after a medical malpractice incident happens when the hospital board director causes a scene. He decides to apply to work at a prison, where he plans to become friends with the most powerful people there—business tycoons, celebrities, sports stars, etc. With these allies, he hopes to get revenge against the hospital that fired him.

This series is a rollercoaster ride with incredibly convincing actors. While most would probably just file a complaint, this lead takes it to a whole new level.

5. The Last Empress

Set in an alternate universe where Korea is a monarchy in 2018, Oh Sunny (Jang Na Ra) is an optimistic musical actress who marries the emperor. She becomes involved in the palace power struggle and a mysterious murder that sets off events that threaten the monarchy itself. She teams up with Na Wang Shik (Choi Jin Hyuk), who works as a bodyguard for the imperial family to uncover the Imperial family’s crimes. Na Wang Shik originally started working in the palace to take revenge on the person responsible for his mother’s death.

As a makjang (over-the-top Drama) that makes fun of makjang tropes, you know it’s going to be a wild ride. The main revenge plot is Na Wang Shik’s, but the entire series will have you on the edge of your seat.
