7 Best Spots To Go For Cherry Blossom Festivals This Spring

Cherry blossoms in Korea are expected to begin blooming around March 25th!

1. Daegu Eworld Light & Cherry Blossom Festival (March 24th~April 8th)

The Eworld Light & Cherry Blossom Festival will be the first among a series of cherry blossom festivals that will follow. This year’s “Let’s Pink Party” concept will include many photo zones, a pink parade, pink market, busking, night party (DJ party), food truck festival, stamp tour, and many more! 2. Jeju King Cherry Blossom Festival (March 31st~April 8th)

Visitors to this cultural festival will be able to enjoy the wild king cherry blossoms of Jeju Island, which are designated as the Natural Monument No. 159. The festival will be held on Jeonnong-ro from March 30th to April 1st, and on Aewol-eup, Jangjeon-ri from April 7th to April 8th.

 

3. Jinhae Gunhangje Festival (April 1st ~ April 10th)

This one of the world’s largest cherry blossom festivals with no less than 220,000 cherry trees full of white blooms. The festival will include a pre-event, cultural performances, and a military performance among many others in the area of Jungwon Rotary and downtown Jinhae.

 

4. Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival (April 1st~April 9th)

This festival opens when various spring flowers are in full bloom. The popular event is known for its 1,886 Korean Cherry trees and various events including colored lights, street performances, and art exhibitions. The festival is held on Yeouido-ro and behind the National Assembly Building. Cars will have limited access near the National Assembly Building, so it’s highly recommended to take the subway or public transportation!

 

5. Jamsil Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival (April 5th~April 13th)

The Seokchon Lake in Jamsil, Seoul will open a cherry blossom festival filled with various cultural arts performances, traditional performances, and concerts as well as various experience zones, caricature, face painting, and many other things to see and enjoy. Go to Seokchon Lake to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and activities!

 

6. Gangreung Gyeongpodae Cherry Blossom Festival (April 6th~April 12th)

This festival, which will be held at the Regional Cultural Asset No. 6 Gyeongpodae Pavilion, will also feature various cultural events and beautiful cherry blossoms amid a traditional Korean setting.

 

5. Seomjin River Cherry Blossom Festival (April 7th~April 8th)

This festival, which will be held in the entire area of Jungma-ri, Muncheok-myeon near the beautiful Seomjin River, will hold various exciting events including a paragliding show, Samulnori performance, and paragliding contest as well as cherry blossom face painting and cherry blossom photo mug DIY. Visitors can also enjoy a relaxing trekking experience along the Seomjin River cherry blossom road.
