8 K-Pop Groups That Deserve More Attention For Their Vocals
There are some K-Pop groups that put a premium on their vocals. 2AM and BOL4, for instance, consider themselves vocal-heavy groups while others tend to focus on being the whole package.
Despite this, there are many that deserve more recognition for their vocal capabilities. Here are some stand-out names from different companies. Check them out below!
SM Entertainment
1. Girls’ Generation
Girls’ Generation has consistently delivered strong vocal power. Their MR removed video from “Into the New World” showed their perfect harmonies. Taeyeon is also considered one of the best vocalists in K-Pop.
2. EXO
Like other SM Entertainment groups, EXO is mostly a dance-heavy group. What non-fans tend to forget though, is that they have three idols that are all main vocal material.
Baekhyun, Chen, and D.O. have often share the high notes of EXO’s songs, showcasing their vocal prowess. The other members are also steady singers which is especially notable with the group’s difficult dance moves.
3. NCT
Like EXO, NCT is better known for their performances than their vocals. While their dancing certainly deserves praise, their vocals are just as good as well. Doyoung, Jaehyun, Taeil, Haechan, and more have shown their skills particularly when they can hold their notes even when tired because of dancing.
4. Super Junior
People tend to remember Super Junior for their variety show skills rather than their talent. Still, they aren’t one of the oldest K-Pop groups for nothing. They have improved their skills thoroughly over the years, being stable and powerful singers especially when performing live.
They were even one of the first groups to have a vocal sub-unit, with Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung making up Super Junior-K.R.Y.
BigHit Entertainment
5. BTS
BTS always surprises with their grand performances. If there is any area they deserve more attention in, it’s their vocals. Jungkook and Jimin are a power duo that can serve up high notes in any song.
Pledis Entertainment
6. NU’EST
NU’EST showed off their powerful vocals in Produce 101 Season 2. Baekho consistently sang high notes in the show while Minhyun captivated everyone with his sweet voice. Ren also proved that he’s more than just a pretty face with his stable singing.
YG Entertainment
7. iKON
iKON is better known as a rap group despite predominantly having vocalists. Jinhwan, Junhoe and more have proven that they can deliver strong vocals whether they’re singing a hip hop song or ballad.
Cube Entertainment
8. CLC
CLC has two members who frequently share high notes: Seunghee and Elkie. Sorn is also a powerful singer, and the others are always stable as well despite their energetic choreography.
