8 Upcoming Dramas You Don’t Want To Miss In 2018

Whether it’s romance, comedy, or crime, these upcoming dramas offer something for everyone.

1. Mr. Sunshine

Mr. Sunshine is a historical drama that begins during the 1871 Shinmiyangyo (U.S. expedition to Korea). A boy born into a house servant’s family travels to the United States then later returns to his homeland as a U.S. marine. In Korea, he falls in love with an aristocrat’s daughter and discovers a plot by foreign forces to colonize Korea. Mr. Sunshine will star Lee Byung-hun, Kim Tae-ri, Yoo Yeon-seok, Kim Min-jung and Byun Yo-han. It is set to start airing on July 7 and will be available on Netflix.

 

2. Your House Helper

This drama is based on Seung Jung Yun‘s webtoon and tells the story of a helper who helps a woman get both her head and house in order. This helper, the son of a wealthy family, ends up becoming a housekeeper after getting cut off from his family’s fortune. He loves to create order from chaos and there’s no one was chaotic as Im Da Young, an ambitious intern who just wants to hold onto her job but keeps getting accused of flirting by her colleagues, due to her friendly personality. This drama is set to air in July.

 

3. My ID Is Gangnam Beauty

This drama is also based on a webtoon and stars ASTRO‘s Eunwoo and Im Soo Hyang  in the leading roles. In it, a woman gets plastic surgery after being bullied because of her looks, but it doesn’t end her bullying. Instead, she becomes known as the “Gangnam plastic surgery monster.” After entering college, she tries to leave her past behing, with the help of a man who will teach her the true meaning of “beauty”.

 

4. Risky Romance

This upcoming medical drama will also begin in airing in July. Risky Romance follows the romance between a competitive neurosurgeon (Ji Hyun-Woo) and an endocrinologist (Lee Si-Young) who is obsessed with hormones.

 

5. Let’s Eat 3

Let’s Eat is a drama that follows several characters who are hungry for both food and love. Fans of the first two seasons can look forward to seeing this third installment in July. Let’s Eat first gained popularity in 2013 and returned for a second season in 2015. This will mark the third time Yoon DoojoonBaek Jin Hee will be a new addition, following in the footsteps of Lee Soo Kyung (Season 1) and Seo Hyun Jin (Season 2).

 

6. Voice 2

This crime thriller drama follows the lives of emergency call center employees as they hunt down criminals by using information and sounds from the calls they receive. The first season aired in 2017 and was a huge hit, so fans have a lot to look forward to! Season 2 will star Lee Jin Wook as Do Kang Woo, a man who is able to tap into the minds of criminals to solve his cases. He will be starring opposite to Lee Ha Na.

 

7. Thirty But Seventeen

This romance drama stars Yang Se-Jong as Gong Woo-Jin, a 30-year-old set designer who does not want to have a relationship with others, due to the trauma he experienced 13 years ago. 13 years after falling into a coma, Woo Seo-Ri (Shin Hye-Sun) wakes up as a 30 year old with the mental age of 17. What is in store for these two? You’ll have to watch to find out!

 

8. Time

This drama is about a restaurant CEO (Kim Jung-Hyun) does not have much time to live. He decides to spend the rest of his life helping the woman (Ji-Hyun) whose life he destroyed. This 32-episode drama will begin airing in July.
