9 BTS’s Favorite Anime Series, So You Can Binge-Watch Them During Your Free Time

Jungkook’s first dream was to become an anime character from this show.

Who says ARMYs have to stop showing their love for BTS when they’re just stuck at home being quarantined?

One way you can feel closer to the boys is by watching their favorite anime series — after all, these are the shows that shaped their childhood, right?

Since BTS members, especially Jungkook and V, have already shown their love for anime, it’s a great idea for you to binge-watch their favorite series, too.

Knowing what genres they care about, which characters they relate to, and what plots they loved watching will make you understand the boys more.

If you don’t really like anime, you can be like J-Hope — give it a chance and maybe, just maybe, you’ll love the group’s recommendations, too. Which anime series should you binge-watch today? Here are nine of them to get you started:

1. Naruto

All the boys are familiar with the anime Naruto — they even chose to sing the anime’s song during karaoke. Obviously, doing the signature run in Naruto was mandatory.

Join Uzumaki Naruto in his quest to become the Hokage, the leader of his village. The show has a total of 500 episodes, so prepare yourself.

2. One Piece

Jimin loves One Piece so much that he was extremely touched when he received a One Piece-related gift for his birthday: a Roronoa Zoro action figure!

One Piece tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew (yes, Zoro’s one of them) going on an adventure in order to find the greatest treasure ever left by the legendary Pirate, Gold Roger.

It’s a perfect show for binge-watching: right now, the show has 923 episodes (and counting!) so start streaming the first episode today.

3. My Hero Academia

V loves to watch anime while preparing for their shows. He’s a picture of him watching My Hero Academia earnestly.

In a world where those with powers are known as “Quirks,” Izuku Midoriya hopes to become a hero one day — but he’s not a “Quirk”.

How does he solve this and become the greatest hero ever? Find out by watching the series today.

4. Slam Dunk

Suga shows his soft side by discussing his love for Slam Dunk. The anime really helped shape his childhood: his stage name is derived from the first syllables of the term shooting guard (슈팅 가드) — the position he played in basketball as a student.

Slam Dunk centers around Hanamichi Sakuragi, who starts learning how to play basketball with Shohoku. Along the way, Sakuragi starts liking the sport and becomes determined to be the best player nationwide.

5. Haikyuu!!

Jungkook’s love for anime still shines through even when he doesn’t have a big device to watch it on! He loves it so much he’s okay with watching Haikyuu!! on his phone.

Haikyuu!! is another sports anime, but this time, it’s all about volleyball. Determined to become a star player, Hinata Shouyou doesn’t let his height get in the way of being the best.

6. Spirited Away

Jungkook’s first dream when he was a child was to become an anime character, specifically, a character who can turn into a dragon. Honestly, same.

The show Spirited Away tells the story of Chihiro, whose parents turned into giant pigs. After this happened, she meets the mysterious Haku who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings. To free herself and her parents, Chihiro must work there.

7. Attack on Titan

One of BTS’s songs, “Attack on Bangtan”, was inspired by the hit anime Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan tells the story of a world where humanity lives in fear of gigantic man-eating humanoids known as “Titans”. Humans learn how to fight back.

8. Crayon Shin-chan

Hoseok may not be extremely devoted to anime like the others, but he also recommends the show Crayon Shin-chan to ARMYs.

Where do you think he…

…got this move from, right?

Crayon Shin-chan follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shin Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and friends

9. Dragon Ball

Jin and Suga show their love for Dragon Ball by doing the “fusion” pose in the show.

The series is all about Goku’s quest to find the seven mystical Dragon Balls. These glorious items have the ability to summon the powerful dragon Shenron, who’s capable of granting power to whoever summoned him.
