“Dumpster Fire” K-Dramas That Viewers Regret Watching In April

While TV shows are entirely subjective based on the viewers’ interests, some overlapping likes and dislikes can be found. When enough dislikes build up, viewers can find themselves feeling like they wasted their time watching the show.

Recently, K-Drama fans discussed some of the series they regretted watching during April on the K-DRAMA subreddit, naming some highly anticipated shows that fell flat for them.

1. The Impossible Heir 

The biggest issue that watchers had with The Impossible Heir, starring Lee Jae Wook, Lee Jun Young, and Hong Su Zu, was that it was hard to understand what was going on with the story. About a man discovering his ties to Korea’s biggest conglomerate, the plot originally seemed to have potential.

The show’s “badly” done tropes and Hong Su Zu’s acting also seemed to turn some off.

2. Heartbeat

Heartbeat is about a half-vampire man who was one day short of becoming a human and his experiences living with a cold natured woman.

Like many shows, viewers say that Heartbeat started out strong but its ending left much to be desired.

3. Wedding Impossible 

Wedding Impossible had an interesting premise that drew many in — a low level actress being giving a chance at success through a fake marriage to a chaebol‘s gay grandson.

The lovelines between the leads didn’t offer enough for many viewers, and some felt that the story underutilized the female lead, played by Jeon Jong Seo.

4. The Killing Vote

The Killing Vote is based on a webtoon where a mysterious figure kidnaps those he finds to have not received enough punishment for their crimes, and allows a nationwide vote to decide if they live or die.

As with all K-Dramas, there was more to the plot than this, however, the writing seemed to decrease in quality.

5. Chicken Nugget

From it’s premise, Chicken Nugget already seemed like it would be too ridiculous to watch. Kim Yoo Jung plays the daughter of a company owner who accidentally turns herself into a chicken nugget.

Though it was obvious comedy, for some it didn’t have enough laughs to make it worth watching.

6. My Demon

My Demon told the story of a contract marriage between an heiress and a demon who has lost his powers.

Both actors were criticized for their acting in this drama, with many feeling that Kim Yoo Jung was miscast in the role. Many felt that the writing ruined what was originally a promising series.
