Get To Know These 3 Girl Groups Debuting In November 2020

Two of these groups are debuting on the same day!

This month is set to be filled with K-Pop debuts—including highly anticipated three new girl groups! Get to know aespa, STAYC, and BlingBling here.

1. aespa

Debuting on November 17, aespa is the first girl group from SM Entertainment in over six years. The name aespa is derived from “Avatar x Experience”, reflecting the group’s innovative AI concept. Each member has a computer-generated counterpart; these avatars can interact with the members and are set to have their own promotions.

aespa’s debut song has already been announced: “Black Mamba”. As of right now, there’s no official song teaser, but the group’s “SYNK” teaser could be a sign of what to expect from their sound.

There are four members in aespa:

Karina

Karina (real name Yoo Jimin) is aespa’s presumed leader and part of the vocal, dance, and rap lines. She’s Korean, 20 years old, and trained for four years. Karina is a former ulzzang, and her favorite artists include f(x), IU, and Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon

Giselle

Giselle (real name Uchinaga Aeri) is part of aespa’s rap line. She’s Japanese, 20 years old, and trained for just 11 months. Giselle is fluent in English as well as Korean and Japanese, and she can play the guitar.

Winter

Winter (real name Kim Minjeong) is part of aespa’s vocal and dance lines. She’s Korean, 19 years old, and trained for 4 years. Winter originally wanted to become an actress, and her K-Pop bias is SEVENTEEN‘s Seungkwan.

Ningning

Ningning (real name Ning Yizhuo) is aespa’s maknae and part of the vocal line. She’s Chinese, 18 years old, and trained for 4 years. Ningning previously appeared in several singing survival shows, and she can play the piano.

2. STAYC

Debuting on November 12, STAYC is the first girl group created under Highup Entertainment, a CJE&M company. The label was founded by iconic producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung, who made songs like APINK‘s “Dumhdurum” and TWICE‘s “Fancy”.

STAYC’s debut single album has already been announced: Star to a Young Culture. Yesterday, they teased their glittering title track, “So Bad”.

They also recently attracted attention for their cover medley which reworked iconic songs like Red Velvet‘s “Psycho” and BTS‘s “Fire” as if they were made by other K-Pop agencies. In just one week, the video has almost 1.5 million views.

There are six members in STAYC:

Sumin

Sumin (real name Bae Sumin) is STAYC’s leader. She’s Korean, 19 years old, and trained for 5 and a half years. Sumin was almost a contestant on K-Pop Star and Produce 48, and played the “invisible girl” in VICTON‘s reality show.

Sieun

Sieun (real name Park Sieun) is Korean, 19 years old, and trained for 4 years. She used to be a trainee and actress under JYP Entertainment, appearing on Mystic Pop-Up Bar, Still 7, and more. He’s also the daughter of singer-actor Park Nam Jung.

Isa

Isa (real name Lee Chaeyoung) is Korean, 18 years old, and trained for 3 years. Some of her favorite things include R&B, clothes, and decorating. Isa was also the first member to join the company and is considered the “mother” of STAYC.

Seeun

Seeun (real name Yoon Seeun) is Korean, 17 years old, and trained for around 2 and a half years. Before joining the company, she was a pre-debut member of Play M Girls—now known as Weeekly. Seeun was also a child actress, and her role model is Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon.

Yoon

Yoon (real name Shim Jayoon) is Korean, 16 years old, and her training period is unknown. She’s the tallest member of STAYC and she loves her grandmother’s home cooking.

J (real name Jang Yeeun) is STAYC’s maknae. She’s Korean, 15 years old, and her training period is unknown. Unfortunately, not much else is known about her right now.

3. BlingBling

Debuting on November 17 (the same day as aespa), BlingBling is a new girl group under MAJOR9. The agency is also home to soloist Ben, duo VIBE, and R&B ballad boy group Big Brain.

BlingBling’s debut song is yet to be announced, but two members recently attracted attention for the cover of Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi‘s “Naughty”.

Juhyun

Juhyun (real name Cha Juhyun) is part of BlingBling’s rap and vocal lines. She’s Korean and currently 20 years old. Juhyun’s MBTI personality type is ENFJ and she once auditioned for MIXNINE.
