The 7 Hottest Male K-Pop Idols, According To Japanese Teenagers
With the popularity of K-Pop rising all around the world, it’s expected for Japan, South Korea’s neighbor, to be one of the main points of focus for companies that are looking to expand their market outside of the country. The star-studded industry has been growing in influence when it comes to makeup, fashion, and entertainment in Japan. Not to mention the number of Japanese idols debuting as K-Pop stars has also been on the rise as of late.
But what is the Japanese public’s taste when it comes to idols? To determine this, 20,804 Japanese teenagers were asked to vote on the hottest K-Pop idols. Here are the seven most-voted male idols.
1. BTS’s Jin
The “Worldwide Handsome” star took first place on the poll, with Japanese teenagers voting him as the hottest K-Pop star. Jin is known for his flawless skin, stunning visuals, and amazing proportions, so topping this list was only natural for the BTS member.
2. ENHYPEN’s Niki
The first and only Japanese K-Pop star on the list, Niki ranked second on the poll. The ENHYPEN star’s incredible stage presence and amazing dance skills definitely were a big plus to his handsome visuals. Seems like Japanese teenagers just can’t resist Niki’s charisma.
3. Stray Kids’ Lee Know
Lee Know took third place on the hottest K-Pop idols list. The Stray Kids member is known for his handsome visuals and equally as flawless personality. Lee Know is also an all-rounder in the group, the idol is capable of dancing, singing, and rapping — all of which only further increases his charm.
4. BTS’s V
It’s hard to image a list of K-Pop’s hottest stars, no matter which country votes on the ranking, without V near the top. The BTS star ranked fourth, proving his unbeatable visuals once again. Seems like Japanese teenagers aren’t immune to V’s charisma either, just like the rest of the world.
5. BTS’s Jungkook
Following Jin and V, BTS’s Jungkook is the third BTS member topping the list. The group’s vocalist is yet another star known for his jaw-dropping visuals and his “bad boy” look. The recent pictures that came out of his project with Calvin Klein are the proof needed that Jungkook is definitely among the hottest K-Pop stars all over the world, Japan included.

6. ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo
One of the few K-Pop stars that are known for their acting career just as they are known for being idols, Cha Eunwoo took sixth place on the poll. The ASTRO star is famous for his sculpted-like face and handsome proportions — features that he shows off during ASTRO performances as well as his numerous acting gigs.
7. SHINee’s Taemin
Despite being out of the K-Pop scene for a few months, due to his military enlistment, Taemin still remains in Japanese fans’ minds as they voted him the seventh hottest K-Pop idol. With SHINee being widely loved in Japan and Taemin having one of the most attractive visuals, voice, and dancing skills in all of K-Pop, his ranking comes to no one’s surprise.
