Star News recently conducted a survey where 31 industry experts — including representatives from top entertainment companies like SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, and Cube Entertainment — came together to vote for the top acting idols of the year. Each participant selected two male and two female idols.
The results were a testament to the idols’ hard work and dedication to their craft. Here’s a look at the top 5 female acting idols as voted by industry experts.
1. Girls’ Generation’s YoonA
Girls’ Generation member Lim Yoona, commonly known as YoonA, snagged the top spot. Receiving 13 votes, she was chosen as this year’s “Best Female Acting Idol.” YoonA’s transition from an idol to an actress has been spectacular. She made a lasting impression with her screen debut in Confidential Assignment (2017). With each subsequent role, whether it was in Exit (2019), Miracle (2021), or Confidential Assignment 2: International (2022), YoonA garnered positive reviews.

Following closely, IU secured second place with 11 votes. She has not only been dominating the music charts but has made a mark in the acting realm too. After her remarkable performances in tvN‘s My Mister (2018) and Hotel Del Luna (2019), she stepped onto the global stage with Hirokazu Koreeda‘s Broker (2022), even gracing the Cannes red carpet.
3. Suzy
The multi-talented Suzy came in third with 9 votes. While she has always been recognized for her acting skills, her performance in the Coupang Play series Anna (2022) solidified her reputation. The phrase “now I am more familiar with the modifier ‘actor’” fittingly captures her evolution in the industry, according to the voters.
4. After School’s Nana
Securing the fourth spot with 7 votes, Nana’s passionate performance in Netflix‘s latest sensation, Mask Girl, earned her a rightful place in the top 5. The former After School member has been steadily making her mark in the acting industry, and her future looks as bright as ever.
5. Kim Sejeong
Last but not least, Kim Sejeong secured fifth place with 5 votes. According to Star News he has been lauded for her comfortable acting skills by the voters, impressing viewers with her ability to lead a season effortlessly.
