Here Are All The K-Pop Groups That Won At The 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards

Congratulations to these groups on their success in Japan! 🏆🇯🇵

Established in 1987, the Japan Gold Disc Awards has been honoring artists across Asia for decades. This year, four K-Pop groups made the cut for impeccable sales and streams in Japan throughout 2020.

1. BTS

BTS picked up a staggering eight awards at the 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards. Their biggest trophy of the night was “Best Artist (Asia)”.

They also picked up three awards for their album releases. Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey was awarded “Album of the Year (Asia) and the “Best 3 Albums (Asia)” award. Map of the Soul 7 also received a “Best 3 Albums (Asia)” award.

Next, Love Yourself: Speak Yourself – Japan Edition was awarded “Music Video of the Year (Asia)”.

Finally, “Dynamite” received three separate awards: “Song of the Year by Downloads (Asia)”, “Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia)”, and “Best 5 Songs by Streaming (Asia)”.

2. TXT

TXT was awarded two trophies at this year’s 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards: “New Artist of the Year (Asia)” and “Best 3 New Artists (Asia)”.

3. SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN’s second Japanese mini-album, 24H, received the “Best 3 Albums (Asia)” award alongside BTS’s releases.

4. Stray Kids

Stray Kids also picked up an award of their own: “Best 3 New Artists (Asia)”. Despite the name of the award, TXT and Stray Kids were the only two winners in this category.

5. NiziU

Last but not least, NiziU—the Japanese girl group described as “K-Pop 3.0” by JYP Entertainment—won three awards. “Make You Happy” was awarded “Best 5 Songs by Downloads (Japan)” and “Best 5 Songs by Streaming (Japan)”.
