16 K-Pop Comebacks & Debuts To Look Forward To In August So Far

Whose comeback are you most excited for??

It might be hard to believe it, but August is just around the corner, and with it are already some promising K-Pop comebacks! From solo comebacks and debuts to releases from older and rookie K-Pop groups, it’s sure to be a fun summer month for K-Pop fans! Here are 16 confirmed comebacks for August so far.

August 2: Somi Comeback

On August 2, Somi’s agency The Black Label has announced that she will be releasing a new album! She’s currently in the final process of touching up the album, which will be her first release since she came out with the single “What You Waiting For” last July.

August 2: Golden Child Comeback

Also on August 2 at 6PM KST/5AM EST, Golden Child is planning to drop their second full-length studio album called Game Changer! They will also be hosting a video call event for the album’s release on August 6.

August 2: ASTRO Comeback

Finally on August 2, ASTRO will release their 8th mini-album, Switch On, at 6PM KST/5AM EST! This will be their second album to come out in 2021, with their full-length album All Yours released back in April.

August 3: BLACKPINK Japanese Comeback

On August 3, BLACKPINK is planning on releasing their first full-length Japanese album! It will include Japanese versions of “How You Like That”, “Pretty Savage”, “Lovesick Girls”, and “You Never Know”.

August 4: Weeekly Comeback

On August 4, rookie girl group Weeekly will come out with their fourth mini-album, Play Game : Holiday, at 6PM KST/5AM EST! This will be the second album that they have released in 2021, with We Play released back in March.

August 4: Rocket Punch Japanese Debut

Also on August 4, Rocket Punch will be making their Japanese debut with the mini-album Bubble Up !. This comes only a few months after they released the single album Ring Ring with the same-titled lead single in May this year.

August 5: Kim Woojin Solo Debut

On August 5, former Stray Kids member-turned-soloist Kim Woojin will be making his solo debut at 6PM KST/5AM EST with his first mini-album, The Moment : 未成年, A Minor.

August 6: Sunmi Comeback

On August 6, soloist Sunmi is planning to have a comeback with her third mini-album titled 1/6 at 6PM KST/5AM EST. This is her second comeback of 2021, after releasing the single album Tail back in February.

August 9: ONF Comeback

On August 9 at 6PM KST/5AM EST, ONF is planning to release their sixth mini-album, Popping! This will be their third release of the year, with the full-length album ONF: Say My Name dropped on February 24 and the reissued album City of ONF came out on April 28.

August 14: N.CUS Comeback

On August 14, N.CUS will release their first single album, Unripe Love. It was originally planned to be released on July 23, but due to the uncertainty of the broadcasting schedule due to the Tokyo Olympics and to allow them to make a more complete album, it was postponed until August!

August 17: CIX Comeback

On August 17, CIX is preparing to release their first full-length studio album, Ok Prologue: Be Ok. This will be their second comeback of the year, with Hello Chapter Ø: Hello, Strange Dream released back on February 2.

August 17: TXT Comeback

Also on August 17, TXT will release the album The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape, which is a repackaged album of The Chaos Chapter: Freeze released earlier this year on May 31!

TBA: Red Velvet Comeback

Though a date hasn’t been given yet, SM Entertainment has confirmed that they’re preparing a new album that is set to come out sometime in August! This will be their first album in almost 18 months, after they released The ReVe Festival: Finale in December 2019.

TBA: Stray Kids Comeback

Also without a set date but planning on coming back in August is Stray Kids! JYP Entertainment has confirmed that they’re working on new music, with a new album planned to be released sometime in late August along with their Kingdom Week TV special, which is their prize for winning Kingdom: Legendary War earlier this year.

TBA: CRAVITY Comeback

Also in August without an official release date, CRAVITY is said to be preparing for a comeback as well, as reported by Korean news outlet OSEN. Not much is known about the comeback yet, but if it’s true, it will be their second release of the year since they came out with Season 3. Hideout: Be Our Voice back in January!

TBA: Maka Maka Comeback

And finally, though information is scarce, rookie girl group Maka Maka is planning to have a comeback in August sometime as well!
