In the United States, turning 21 is a pretty big deal for a long of young people. It’s the legal drinking age, of course, which means that 21st birthday parties can get a little wild. It’s also just an age where most young adults have more freedom and control in their life, and it’s a pretty big milestone for many. While the age might not be as important to Korean citizens, it’s still an age worth celebrating, so here are 13 female K-Pop idols that will be turning 21 (by U.S. standards) this year!

1. Shuhua ((G)I-DLE)

Shuhua was born on January 6, 2000, so she has actually already turned 21! The (G)I-DLE maknae is also the sub-vocalist and visual of the group, and she debuted on May 2, 2018 when she was just 18 years old!

2. Chaeyeon (IZ*ONE)

Chaeyeon was born on January 11, 2000, meaning that she has also already turned 21 this year! She debuted with IZ*ONE at their October 29, 2018 debut at the young age of 18, and she acts as the main dancer, lead vocalist, and lead rapper of the group.

3. Mia (EVERGLOW)

Mia was born on January 13, 2000 — yet another early-year baby that has already reached the age of 21! She debuted about two years ago with EVERGLOW on March 18, 2019 at the age of 19, and she’s the main vocalist and main dancer of the group.

She debuted with aespa not too long ago on November 17, 2020 at the age of 20, and despite her young age, she’s the leader of the group! She’s also their main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist, and face of the group.

5. Nancy (MOMOLAND)

Nancy was born on April 13, 2000, making her the only member of MOMOLAND born that year. She debuted with the group on November 10, 2016, at only 16 years old! Along with being MOMOLAND’s maknae, she’s also their lead vocalist, lead dancer, visual, and center.

6. Yeji (ITZY)

Yeji was born on May 26, 2000, making her one of two members of ITZY born that year and also making her the oldest of the group. She debuted with ITZY on February 11, 2019 at just 18 years old, and she acts as the group’s leader, main dancer, lead vocalist, and sub-rapper.

7. Heejin (LOONA)

Heejin was born on October 19, 2000, so she has several months to go before she turns 21! She debuted with LOONA on August 19, 2018 when she was only 17 years old, though she’s not the youngest in the group by quite a big margin. She’s LOONA’s dancer, vocalist, rapper, visual, and center!

8. Aisha (EVERGLOW)

Aisha was born on July 21, 2000, so she has several months to go before she hits 21. She debuted at the age of 18 with EVERGLOW on March 18, 2019, and is the second-youngest member of the group. She also serves as their lead rapper and sub-vocalist!

Giselle is the second of two members of aespa born in 2000, with a birthday on October 30, 2000. She also debuted at the age of 20 when the group began on November 17, 2020, and she’s the main rapper and sub-vocalist of aespa.

10. Lia (ITZY)

Lia is the second member of ITZY born in 2000, with a birthday on July 21, 2000. She also debuted at the age of 18 with ITZY on February 11, 2018, and she’s the group’s main vocalist and sub-rapper.

11. Onda (EVERGLOW)

Onda was born on May 18, 2000, one of four EVERGLOW members to be born in that year! Like the others on this list, she debuted on March 18, 2019 at the age of 18, and is EVERGLOW’s lead dancer, sub-vocalist, and visual.

12. Chaewon (IZ*ONE)
