These 4 K-Pop Idols Are Racking Up Awards, All Without A Solo Debut

Not having a solo album didn’t stop these four stars from getting awarded.

In the world of K-Pop, solo debuts are often seen as a rite of passage for idols looking to make a name for themselves outside of their respective groups. However, there are some stars who have managed to rack up numerous awards and accolades without ever releasing a solo album.

The following four idols have proven that you don’t need a solo debut to achieve incredible success in the K-Pop industry. With their hard work, dedication, and talent, they have become some of the most popular and beloved idols in the industry. It will be exciting to see what they achieve in the future, both as members of their respective groups and as solo artists.

1. BTS’s Jungkook

Known as the “Golden Maknae” of BTS, Jungkook has become one of the most popular idols in the industry. Despite never releasing a solo album, he has won several awards for his work as one of the best singers active in the K-Pop industry. Last year he became the first K-Pop artist to win a People’s Choice Award. The BTS star was also awarded the “Song of The Year” award at the 37th Japan Golden Disc Awards.

2. BTS’s V

Another member of BTS who has yet to release a solo album, V, has still managed to make a name for himself as a solo artist. He has won numerous awards for his work, especially for his OST releases “Sweet Night” and “Christmas Tree”. V won the “Best OST” award at the 2020 APAN Star Awards, the “Best Idol Actor” and “Best Choreography” awards at the 2018 and 2019 Soompi Awards, respectively.

3. NCT’s Doyoung

Despite being a member of one of the biggest boy groups in the industry, NCT’s Doyoung has yet to release a solo album. However, he has still managed to make a name for himself as a talented singer and performer, but also an incredible actor. He has won several awards for his work, including the “AAA Focus Award,” the award for “Best Artists of K-Drama OST in Thailand,” and Seoul Webfest’s “Best Actor” award. Doyoung also won a grand award at South Korea’s First Brand Awards, claiming the prize for best “Variety Idol.”

4. ITZY’s Yeji

As the leader of ITZY, Yeji has become one of the most popular idols in the industry. Despite never releasing a solo album, she has won several awards thanks to her incredible dancing skills. Her accolades include the award for “Best Dance Video” at the 2022 LIT Awards and the “Music Category” award at the 2021 NYX Awards.
