10 K-Pop Songs Everyone Agrees Should’ve Been Hits
Everyone knows the bitter feeling of watching a song you really enjoy perform not so well on the South Korean charts. Be it due to the difference in musical preferences, or the lack of proper promotion, this happens more than often. Some K-Pop fans even have favorite B-sides which they believe could’ve topped every chart had they been promoted. Though there are many tracks out there that deserve better commercial success than they got, here are the 10 most K-Pop fans agree on.
1. NCT Dream’s “Dreaming”
“Dreaming” was released as part of NCT‘s Universe album. The track video posted on YouTube has garnered over 9 million views since its release more than a year ago, but fans believe the song deserves better recognition.
2. SEVENTEEN’s “HIT”
“HIT” was released as the title track of SEVENTEEN’s 3rd studio album An Ode. The song peaked at #64 on South Korea’s Circle Digital chart, though fans believe it should’ve been more successful.
3. Stray Kids’ “Side Effects”
“Side Effects” was released in 2019 as the title track for the group’s 6th mini album Clé 2: Yellow Wood. Unfortunately, the song didn’t manage to chart on South Korea’s Circle Digital chart.
4. KAI’s “Peaches”
“Peaches” was released in 2021 as the title track of Kai’s 2nd mini album of the same name. The song only managed to reach #73 on South Korea’s Circle Digital chart.
5. ENHYPEN’s “TFW”
“TFW” (also known as “That Feeling When”) was released as a B-Side part of ENHYPEN’s 3rd mini album MANIFESTO : DAY 1 in 2022. Despite it being a B-side, fans believe that with the proper promotion backing it, the song could’ve performed much better commercially.
6. (G)I-DLE’s “Uh Oh”
“Uh Oh” was released in 2019 as the group’s second digital single. The song managed to peak at #41 on South Korea’s Monthly Circle Digital chart. Despite this, “Uh Oh” received a lot of love on international platforms, making fans believe it should’ve performed much better in South Korea.
7. TXT’s “0X1=LOVESONG”
Also known as “I Know I Love You”, the song was released as the title track for TXT’s 2nd studio album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze. The song was able to reach #42 on South Korea’s Circle Digital chart.
8. Fromis_9’s “Love Bomb”
“Love Bomb” was released as the group’s first single album From.9. Though the song didn’t manage to chart on South Korea’s Digital Chart at all, international fans have always loved “Love Bomb.” They still mention it among their favorite tracks, despite it being released four years ago!
9. CLC’s “Black Dress”
“Black Dress” was released as the title track for CLC’s 7th mini album of the same name. Unfortunately, despite it being appreciated by international fans, the track didn’t manage to chart on South Korea’s Circle Digital chart
10. Weki Meki’s “Oopsy”
Weki Meki is known for its underrated title tracks, and “Oopsy” is definitely up there on the list. The song was released as the title track for the group’s 3rd mini album Hide and Seek. Sadly, it wasn’t able to enter the Circle Digital chart at all, leaving fans wanting more recognition for the catchy single. om
