These Are The 7 Youngest Currently Active Foreign K-Pop Idols
There are plenty of young idols in the K-Pop industry, some still in their mid-teens and chasing their dream at a young age. Some of them, however, have come to Korea from other countries specifically to become an idol, despite being very young! Can you imagine how homesick they must get sometimes? It’s amazing what they’re willing to do to pursue their passion!
These are currently the 7 youngest foreign idols in the K-Pop industry. Note that this list only includes currently active idols, and not trainees or those in pre-debut groups. There are some trainees that will debut soon that are younger, but these are the youngest actual idols in the industry right now!
7. Hitomi (IZ*ONE)
Hitomi was born on October 6, 2001, making her 18, almost 19 years old. She’s the lead dancer, sub-vocalist, and sub-rapper of IZ*ONE, which she trained for over 4 years before debuting in. She grew up in the Tochigi prefecture of Japan, and has an older brother an an older sister. On Produce 48, she ranked 9th, which allowed her to join IZ*ONE!
6. Manny (VARSITY):
Manny was born on November 17, 2001, making him 18 years old. He is the maknae and lead rapper of VARSITY, and one of their 5 Chinese members that actively promote in China. He was born in China, but his ethnicity is actually Uyghur, which is an ethnic minority in the northwest region of the country. He has also participated on the competition show MIXNINE, where he placed 64th.
5. Chenle (NCT):
Chenle was born on November 22, 2001, so he’s 18 years old. He’s a vocalist for NCT, where he’s part of both NCT Dream and NCT U. He was born in Shanghai, China to a wealthy family with and older brother. Amazingly, he debuted with only 2 months of training, and he really admires fellow Chinese and SM Entertainment idol Lay from EXO.
4. Huening Kai (TXT):
Huening Kai was born on August 14, 2002, making him 18 years old. Along with being the maknae of TXT, he’s also the vocalist, dancer, rapper, and visual. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, though he ended up spending most of his young years in China before he moved to South Korea to become an idol. His father is half-German and his mother is Korean, and he also has a younger sister as well as an older sister, Lea, who is a member of the girl group VIVA.
3. Sora (woo!ah!):
Sora was born on August 30, 2003, so she just turned 17 not too long ago. She’s a vocalist and rapper for rookie girl group woo!ah!. As an idol from Japan, she admires fellow Japanese idol Mina from Twice. Not a lot more is known about her yet, but hopefully she makes a big name for herself in the K-Pop industry!
2. Haruto (TREASURE):
Haruto was born on May 5, 2004, making him 16 years old. He’s the rapper and visual of rookie group TREASURE, and the youngest of their four Japanese members. He’s from Fukuoka, Japan, and has one younger sister. He also has an English name — Travis — and his mom is known to be a huge BIGBANG fan, so it makes sense that he ended up at YG Entertainment!

Born on November 16, 2004, May is the youngest active foreign idol at just 15 years old! She’s the maknae of Cherry Bullet, as well as their lead dancer, vocalist, and visual. She was born and grew up in Tokyo, Japan, before she moved to South Korea to become an idol with FNC Entertainment.
