Google Philippines recently released the top keywords that were searched by Filipinos in 2021. Besides songs, shows, sports, and more, another category that was looked into was the top searched Korean personalities in the country.
Check out the full list below.
First up, ENHYPEN’s Heeseung is the only active K-Pop idol in the Top 10. He grabbed the tenth spot with his strong fanbase. Some possible reasons for this could be his frequent use of Taglish (a mix of Tagalog and English) and constant expression of love for Filipino fans.
9. Han So Hee
Han So Hee first made her name known in the Philippines with JTBC‘s The World of the Married in 2020. The following year, she starred in more famous K-Dramas in the form of Nevertheless and My Name.
ENHYPEN is the only K-Pop group in the Top 10, not too big of a surprise considering Heeseung himself landed in tenth place. They solidified their name in the industry as a group to look forward to especially when they grabbed their first music show win in May with “Drunk-Dazed.”
7. Song Kang
Filipinos couldn’t get enough of Song Kang and his two hit shows this year, tvN‘s Navillera and JTBC’s Nevertheless alongside Han So Hee. His memorable characters and handsome looks made him a hot topic every week.
6. Seo Ye Ji
Seo Ye Ji made her breakthrough internationally with KBS‘s It’s Okay To Not Be Okay last 2020. Besides the success of the show in the Philippines, netizens likely searched her name online due to her involvement in the controversy with actor Kim Jung Hyun.
Former MOMOLAND member Yeonwoo garnered considerable attention this year. She ventured into acting full time with the K-Dramas Cheat On Me If You Can and Dali and Cocky Prince.
In August, her own agency as well as Lee Min Ho‘s firmly denied that the two were in a relationship.
4. Lee Da In
K-Drama fans might recognize Lee Da In for her roles in KBS’s Doctor Prisoner (2019) and SBS‘s Alice (2020). This year, she made headlines for her relationship with A-list actor Lee Seung Gi which was confirmed last May.
3. Jung Ho Yeon
Jung Ho Yeon is the Korean female celebrity who garnered the most search results among Filipinos. 2021 was a big year for her as she made her transition from a supermodel to an actress through Netflix’s most successful original show ever, Squid Game.

2. Hwang In Yeop
In second place was none other than actor Hwang In Yeop. His success was made even more special considering it stemmed from his appearance as the second lead in True Beauty. 1. Kim Seon Ho
Finally, actor Kim Seon Ho topped the list of most-searched Korean personalities in the Philippines. His first K-Drama as the male lead, Hometown Cha Cha Cha, often landed in first place in the country’s Netflix rankings while it was airing.
