10+ Songs You Never Knew Were Composed By An Idol From A Different Group

You probably didn’t even realize these songs were written by other idols.

Many K-Pop idols write and compose their own songs, but these eleven idols have even composed or written songs for other idols.  Many of these songs are super recognizable and you’ll probably be surprised to find out who they were actually produced by!

 

1. BTS’s Suga

This BTS member is no stranger to composing and writing lyrics for his own songs, but Suga has also composed songs for other idols; Suran‘s recent song, “Wine”, for instance.

 

2. EXID’s LE

LE has composed for several popular acts such as HyunA (for her song “Blacklist”), K.Will (on “Sweet Girl”), Verbal Jint (for “Under The Ears” which featured Sanchez), and Trouble Maker‘s “Trouble Maker”.

 

3. Highlight’s Junhyung

This idol has co-produced several songs throughout his career such as Apink‘s “I Got You” and EXID‘s “Think About”. Most recently, Junhyung composed Kriesha Chu‘s debut song “Trouble”.

 

4. BTS’s RM

RM is one known to compose and write lyrics often, and he has even composed and wrote lyrics for other K-Pop idols. RM has been credited for co-composing and co-writing GLAM‘s “PARTY (XXO)” as well as Homme‘s “Dilemma”.

 

5. SEVENTEEN’s Woozi

I.O.I fans may remember the girl group’s song “Downpour” that certainly left fans in tears. Behind the moving lyrics was SEVENTEEN’s Woozi who also co-composed the song.

 

6. TEENTOP’s Changjo

TEENTOP’s Changjo is an incredibly kind senior as this idol has actually composed a few songs for his junior group UP10TION. Changjo composed both the group’s songs “Party2nite” and their song “Never Ending”.

 

7. iKON’s Bobby

iKON’s Bobby is quite a skilled songwriter and producer and has actually composed and written several songs since his debut.  Some of those songs include Lee Hi‘s “Video”, and  PSY‘s “Bomb”.

 

8. iKON’s B.I

This idol has a very impressive track record of songs that’s he’s written, that includes BLACKPINK‘s “Whistle”, WINNER‘s “Empty” and PSY’s “Autoreverse”.

 

9. B.A.P’s Yongguk

Song Jieun‘s hit “Crazy” was co-written by Bang Yongguk, who also featured in the song. As a composer, Yongguk goes under the alias Andrew Baag, and has composed songs such as VIXX’s “Love Me Do”.

 

10. BLOCK B’s ZICO

Zico has composed several songs for other idols, including Mino‘s “Turtle Ship (featuring One, Andup, and Jamezz)” and Mino’s “Fear (featuring Taeyang)”.

 

11. SHINee’s Jonghyun

Jonghyun has an incredibly long list of song’s that he composed and/or wrote.  Included in that list is IU‘s “A Gloomy Clock”,  which he wrote and composed, as well as Taemin‘s “Pretty Boy” and EXO‘s “Playboy”.

Jonghyun also penned Lee Hi‘s hit ballad “Breathe”. She called him the master of writing “lyrics and melodies that reflect feelings”.

 

12. Hui (PENTAGON)

Hui has become a hot topic of discussion for his writing and production of the hit song “Never” from Produce 101 Season 2, but he has been writing and composing for a while and was the mastermind behind Wanna One‘s debut hit “Energetic”.

 

13. J-Hope (BTS)

Jo Kwon‘s “Animal” was co-composed and co-written by J-Hope, who also featured in it. J-Hope, along with the other members of BTS, helps to compose and write BTS’s songs, which are international hits!

 

14. G-Dragon (BIGBANG)

Was there any doubt the “genius songwriter” would be here? He co-wrote Taeyang‘s “Ringa Linga”, among hundreds of other songs for BIGBANG, Seungri, Taeyang and countless other idols.

 

15. Wheesung

Wheesung co-wrote and produced TWICE“s “Dance The Night Away”, as well as Ailee‘s debut hit song “Heaven”, and hits for Orange Caramel, T-ara, and Younha.

 

16. Taeyang (BIGBANG)

Se7en‘s “Somebody Else” was co-composed and co-written by Taeyang. Taeyang has also of course written many BIGBANG songs, which all the members had a hand in.
