5 Idol Spotify Playlists That Show Off Their Individuality
On February 2, Spotify was launched in South Korea, opening itself up to a whole new market. Before this launch, however, some idols had already taken to the streaming platform to create their very own playlists – so what better time than now to take a look back at a few?
1. ASTRO JinJin’s “JSMR (Feb. Edition)”
Judging by his playlist, JinJin loves electronic pop and dance music, which aligns perfectly with his energetic personality!
It’s a versatile feel-good playlist, something you can listen to while on a roadtrip or simply while cleaning the house to make it feel less like a chore!
Some songs that exemplify the vibes of this playlist are “Dream Dream Dream” by Madeon and “Feel Good” by China Lane.
2. SuperM Mark’s “Quarantine Playlist”
Mark went for more a chill vibe with his playlist, and although it only contains five songs, each one works together to convey a message: even though the world is crazy right now, it’ll be okay.
Each song feels purposefully selected to reassure listeners and to remind them of the joys life still has to offer, in their own way.
Two standout songs are “I Got You” by Bazzi and “Wasted Nights” by ONE OK ROCK, both of them a reminder to look for the little things and not worry so much about tomorrow.
3. SEVENTEEN Vernon’s “pop”
Vernon is part of SEVENTEEN’s hip-hop team for a reason: he knows the ins and outs of the genre, with his playlist containing a range of artists from Kirin to 100 Gecs.
It’s also no surprise to find multiple Frank Ocean songs on Vernon’s playlist. In an interview with Billboard in October 2020, he showed off his fan status by sharing that the first album he ever bought for himself was Frank Ocean’s Blonde.
Two noteworthy songs are “Nikes” by Frank Ocean and “Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)” by Post Malone.
4. BTS V’s “Favorite Tracks”
In another short playlist, V shows off his affinity for jazz and swing music. The songs flow from emphatic, energetic and passionate songs into more mellow tracks.
In the dreamiest of ways, this playlist makes you want to sway with a lover in the kitchen.
This feeling is particularly apparent in “Take My Heart” by Al Martino and “Hotel Rosario” by Angel Snow.
5. GOT7 Jinyoung
This playlist is mostly made up of older hit pop songs, much akin to a throwback playlist. It’s sure to fill you with nostalgia.
Especially with all the uncertainty surrounding GOT7’s future, it’s nice to take a moment to reminisce over fond memories.
The nostalgic feeling of the playlist is amplified by “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” by The Script and “Paradise” by Coldplay.
Each one of these playlists brings out their creators’ personalities, allowing listeners to learn more about their favorite idols. Now that it’s readily available in South Korea, we may see an increase in idol playlists!
