These Are 2018’s Top Idol Groups, According to Genie

Is your favorite group #1?

Genie has officially named the top idol groups for the first half of 2018, according to their Top 100 chart rankings.

A total of 14 idol groups (7 female and 7 male) made it onto Genie’s Top 100 songs from January to June. Out of all these artists, iKON placed first.

After dropping “Love Scenario” in January, iKON held onto Genie’s No. 1 daily chart spot for 35 days, which makes them Genie’s top male group of 2018 (so far).

It may come as no surprise that BTS had the most songs in Genie’s Top 100. “DNA”, “Spring Day”, and “FAKE LOVE”, all made onto Genie’s list.

WINNER placed just behind BTS with two hits: “Everyday” and “Really Really”.

Wanna One came in next with two songs as well: “Beautiful” and “Energetic”.

BIGBANG’s “Flower Road”…

EXO’s “Universe”…

…and BTOB’s “Missing You” were also popular choices with listeners.

MOMOLAND ranked the highest out of all girl groups and ranked third overall with their catchy hit single, “Bboom Bboom”.

Red Velvet and TWICE tied for most girl group songs in the Top 100, since each group had three songs on the list. Red Velvet’s Top 100 hits were “Red Flavor”, “Bad Boy”,  and “Peekaboo”.

TWICE’s Top 100 songs were “What is Love?”, “Heart Shaker”, and “Likey”.

Other super popular girl group songs include BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last”…

GFRIEND’s “Time for the Moon Night”…

EXID’s “DDD”…

…and Oh My Girl’s “Secret Garden”.

According to Genie, idol groups are leading today’s music trends. They account for an impressive 24 percent of Genie’s top 100 songs!

Congrats to iKON, MOMOLAND, and all of Genie’s other Top 100 groups!
