Taecyeon in “Heartbeat”

The fellow 2PM members are currently both starring in their own K-Dramas. Taecyeon is a half-man, half-vampire in the ironically named Heartbeat, while Junho is the handsome chaebol in King the Land.

Promoting his new K-Drama, Taecyeon recently guested on DIVE StudiosDaebak Show w/ Eric Nam. Host Eric Nam asked him to fact-check a few stories, including one about Taecyeon taking a test while dressed in a stage costume.

There was even photographic evidence, but Taecyeon also appeared to have a broken arm at the time. So, he revealed the story behind the injury.

Long story short… I’m a righty, and the left one’s broken because… We were in Japan. 2PM were doing some promotion for this song called ‘Beautiful,’ and we had like 10-minute break while we had to shoot a stage like record a stage. And we’re just like fooling around as like all the time … We started arm wrestling.

While 2PM was promoting “Beautiful” in Japan, the members took a break and decided to arm wrestle. Junho and Taecyeon went up against each other, but Junho pointed out that while Taecyeon is a righty, he is a lefty. So, Taecyeon decided he’d just compete with his left hand, which was a mistake…

Junho was like, ‘Hyung, but I’m a lefty.’ Okay, let’s do left one!

Taecyeon demonstrated the accident. He jokingly compared it to a scene from the 1987 American sports drama film, Over the Top, starring Sylvester Stallone.

You know how like the guy breaks the other guy’s arm off? Almost like that.

Junho and Taecyeon’s “fun” arm-wrestling match resulted in Taecyeon actually having to have surgery for the broken arm! Now, Taecyeon is an advocate against arm-wrestling.

So, I always tell, like many, many young kids, to not arm-wrestle. It’s a dangerous sport!
