The actor, who stars in the Netflix movie 20th Century Girl, sat down with Wikitree for an exclusive interview on October 26, where he revealed his first love story.

20th Century Girl is a movie starring Kim Yoo Jung and Byeon Woo Seok, about a girl who watches a boy for her friend under the guise of setting them up, only to find herself falling in love with his friend.

On this day, Byeon Woo Seok was asked if filming the movie didn’t give him memories of his own first love. To this, the actor revealed that his own experiences with falling in love helped him connect with his character.

To be honest, my first love was unrequited in Middle School, Just as Woon Ho liked Bora from the very start. My own experiences helped me relate to my character.

The actor then spoke about his own first love and the regrets he has from not being able to express his feelings to her then.

She was someone I was close with, but I never expressed my feelings. That is why I could relate to Woon Ho. Thinking back then, I don’t know why I didn’t. At the time, I thought the fact I liked someone in itself was special. I am not like that anymore. I try to express my feelings.

Byeon Woo Seok then revealed his thoughts on first love.

Whether that is unrequited love or if the feelings are reciprocated, I think the first person that you truly like is your first love.

When asked if his first love knows that he liked her, the actor revealed that he had once met her on the street by coincidence.

We don’t contact one another, but I met her by coincidence on the street once. I’m pretty sure she has no idea (about my feelings).
