Song Seung Heon debuted as an actor in 1996 with the MBC sitcom Three Guys, Three Girls alongside famous comedian Shin Dong Yeop. He acted in many films and K-Dramas afterward, with Autumn In My Heart with actress Song Hye Kyo in 2000 being one of his most recognized works.

While discussing his 27-year career in an interview with News1, the actor shared a touching story about a fan who supported him from the beginning of his debut days.

He shared that back in the day, a fan would come to see him at fan signings and filming locations in her school uniform—one day, many years later, she gave him an invitation to her wedding.

Recently, I attended the wedding of a fan who supported me since we were young and she was even the fanclub president. She used to come to my fan signings and filming locations in her school uniform, and she sent me a wedding invation. I told her I wouldn’t be able to attend if I had to film outside of the city and told her congratulations.

It turned out that he didn’t have to film that day, so he secretly attended her wedding—it was the first time he attended a fan’s wedding. When the fan and Song Seung Heon saw each other, they were both shocked but in different ways. She was shocked to see him and cried, and he was shocked at his response.

She was in the bride’s room and was so shocked that she started crying because she was surprised and thankful that I came. But the embarrassing thing was that after seeing her, I started to cry. It was my first time feeling these emotions so I was embarrassed.

Other wedding guests recognized him and took pictures, and because he was a bit embarrassed to be crying in public, he quickly took pictures and recollected himself. His tears were triggered by a feeling he had never felt before: seeing his fan grow up before his eyes.

The little girl in the school uniform 20 years ago is now getting married and I got older, too. What is this feeling? I wonder if this is how brothers feel when their little sister gets married. It was a strange feeling I felt for the first time.

Seeing his young fan grow from a student to a bride moved him. The actor shared that he is so thankful to her and all his fans who supported him from his debut days.

Every time I see old-time fans at my press conferences, it makes me reflect on myself and it becomes a driving force to whip me back into shape. Getting older together is so nice, and I’m so grateful that I can’t express it in words.
